We have an ambitious five-year strategic plan that aims to take us even closer to realising our vision of a world in which no person is needlessly blind, or vision impaired and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to sight and good health.To find out more about our work, please visit our website https://www.hollows.org THE OPPORTUNITYThe Finance Officer, reporting to the Finance & Operations Manager, oversees payment processing and financial transactions in alignment with Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF) policies to ensure accurate financial information to support decision-making in the Pakistan Country Office. ABOUT YOUYou will be a finance professional excited by the prospect of joining an international development organisation looking to make real world positive impact. You will be a collaborative team player with a results-driven, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset for problem-solving. You should be adaptable and agile, capable of performing strategic and technical analyses under time constraints. You will have strong communication skills, able to work in a cross-cultural environment. Finally, you must be highly organized, able to efficiently multi-task and prioritize.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage project financial records to ensure compliance with IFRS, FHF policies, and legal standards.
- Review partner transfer requests, align with budgets, verify supporting documents, and record in SUN system.
- Support program and partner staff in understanding financial requirements to ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Prepare and process payments in accordance with policies and tax laws, including WHT deductions.
- Handle advances, payables, accruals, and monthly balance sheet updates for smooth financial closures.
- Reconcile monthly balances, manage petty cash, and ensure compliance in procurement practices.
- Maintain a well-organized filing system, aligned with electronic records for easy access.
- Support audits (External & Internal) by providing required documents, assisting with monthly management accounts, and participating in budget development.
- Prepare and review donor reports, ensuring timely release to the program team and donors.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- CA- finalist, ACMA, ACCA qualified or equivalent Master's degree.
- At least Five years experience in finance within an international NGO, using accounting systems for transaction processing and reconciliations.
- Proficient in financial accounting software, spreadsheets, and SUN systems.
- Strong knowledge and skills in accounting principles, budget/cash-flow monitoring, internal controls, financial compliance and auditor coordination.
- Self-motivated with initiative, able to set priorities and support programs.
- Strong competence in the use of standard software programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Proven experience in promoting an organizational culture of trust, transparency, respect, and partnership.
- Work under deadlines, with excellent organization, time management, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation and multitasking skills.
- Team player, results-driven, and able to support skill development and training.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbally and written are required.
