In November 2023, the initiative "Marvi Aur Sehat Sath Sath" was launched, with financial assistance from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, marking the commencement of a transformative project focused on “Scaling Family Planning In Sindh”. The overall goal of thisinvestment is to support the Government of Sindh in realizing their FP2030 commitment to increasing CPR* through the implementation of cost-efficient approaches to expanded
service delivery, by supporting the scale up of two priority High Impact Practices:


1) Expand HANDS’s current service delivery model working with Marvi workers in rural areas, with additional adaptation and scale-up to urban/peri-urban areas in select districts, and
2) support integration of PPFP in private-sector facilities with high volume deliveries in select districts.


Integrating Family Planning (FP) as an essential component of Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) services at Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to expand access to FP information and services in in rural and Urban areas of Sindh. This investment seeks to reach an additional ~300K users by 2026, focusing on reaching women and girls who have expressed an intention to use FP in the future but are not currently using contraception and supporting them to convert their intention into use (in line with both their fertility desires and contraceptive preferences).


THE ASSIGNMENT
We are seeking a skilled and experienced consultant to assist in the translation, composing, and designing of a comprehensive Training Manual for Marvi Workers. The project will also include the creation of a supplementary booklet that complements the training manual. The consultant should possess a strong background in language translation, instructional design, and graphic design to ensure the materials are effective, clear, and visually engaging.


SCOPE OF WORK
Translation:

  • Translate the content of the Training Manual from the source language to the Sindhi and Urdu Languages.
  • Ensure that the translation is accurate, culturally appropriate, and maintains the intended meaning and tone of the original content.
  • Translate the supplementary booklet to align with the Training Manual, ensuring consistency in terminology and style.

Composing:

  • Compose and structure the translated content in a logical and coherent manner, suitable for a training manual.
  • Adapt the content to be easily understandable by Marvi Workers, considering their educational background and literacy levels.
  • Incorporate instructional techniques to enhance the effectiveness of the training material.

Designing:

  • Design the layout of the Training Manual and supplementary booklet, ensuring that they are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and aligned with the organization’sbranding guidelines.
  • Use relevant graphics, illustrations, and charts to support the content and make the material more engaging for Marvi Workers.
  • Ensure the final design is print-ready and suitable for both digital and physical distribution.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in translating technical or instructional content into the specified language(s).
• Expertise in composing and structuring educational materials, preferably within the context of community health or social work.
• Strong graphic design skills with experience in creating training manuals or similar documents.
• Ability to work within tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with the cultural context of the Marvi Workers and the communities they serve is a plus.


DELIVERABLES
• Fully translated and composed Training Manual in the target language(s).
• A supplementary booklet translated, composed, and designed to complement the Training Manual.


TIMELINE
The project is expected to be completed within 1 Month, with key milestones and review points to be agreed upon at the start of the project.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Interested consultants should submit a proposal outlining their experience, approach to the project, and a portfolio of relevant work.
• Proposals should also include a detailed timeline and budget estimate.
